Following the controversial clash between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez in the Malaysian Grand Prix, several riders took to social media to share their views on the incident.
Naturally, opinion among the motorcycle racing fraternity was divided, some defending Rossi, and others criticising the Italian for his Turn 14 move on Marquez.
Questions were also raised regarding the stewards' decision to penalise Rossi by forcing him to start from the back of the grid for the title deciding Valencia race.
Rossi's teammate Jorge Lorenzo thinks the Italian was let off lightly to keep the title fight open, while Marquez's teammate Dani Pedrosa said the clash could set a dangerous precedent for young riders.
Meanwhile, Rossi himself believes Marquez has decided the title in the favour of fellow countryman Lorenzo, and at the same time the Honda rider was appalled by Rossi's behaviour, not only in the race but also in front of race direction.
Race director Mike Webb post-race explained the penalty handed to Rossi and that the Italian broke the rules by hitting Marquez.
