Rossi in the right in Marquez clash – Lorenzo
Jorge Lorenzo has revealed he believes teammate and title rival Valentino Rossi was in the right over his dramatic last-corner clash with Marc Marquez at the Dutch TT.

The pair made contact at the final chicane as Marquez dived for the inside on the last lap of last weekend’s race at Assen, with Rossi straight-lining the gravel trap to claim his third win of the season.
Lorenzo was loath to give his verdict in the immediate aftermath of the race in the post-race press conference, but revealed his opinion in an interview with motogp.com having reviewed the footage of the incident.
Valentino entered the chicane in the first position, so in my opinion he deserved the win this time.

“It is true, after the race I couldn’t make an answer because I didn’t see it during the race,” said the Spaniard.
“Now I have seen it a few more times, to be honest, it is true that you cannot go straight and on to the gravel normally, but the contact from Marc was huge.
“Valentino entered the chicane in the first position, so in my opinion he deserved the win this time.”
Agostini calls it for Rossi
MotoGP legend Giacomo Agostini concurred with Lorenzo’s assessment, saying that although in normal conditions Rossi should not have cut the chicane, the contact with Marquez made it an exceptional situation.
“I think Valentino, he cannot cut the chicane [normally], but Marquez cannot push him out,” said the 15-time champion at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
“So I think if I am the jury, I stop the race at the corner and whoever is leading is the winner – and at that time Valentino was leading, so he is the winner.”
