Hayden and Pedrosa will race in Brno with a version of the bike for 2008
The 2007 season is very tight and teams like Ducati and Yamaha are demonstrating that they can rub shoulders with the best, fighting against the Repsol Honda Team for the podium in every GP. The fact is that the race at Donington park showed that this year is not going to be a walkover for anybody. That is why Honda is working hard to try and get the first version of what will be the new motorbike for the 2008 season in Hayden's and Pedrosa's hands as soon as possible.
The scheduled date for its appearance is 19th August, to be specific in the Czech GP at the circuit of Brno. There the team aims to give the team" two riders, the reigning World Champion, Nicky Hayden, and the young Spanish rider, Dani Pedrosa, a preliminary version of the bike for 2008 so that they can go out on the track with it, and then a little later on in the season present them with the definitive evolution of the RC212V for 2008.
Honda has confirmed its work plan, down to the last detail and so both Tamada and Kamada, the team's test riders, are already working on the new bike at the circuit of Motegi so that Pedrosa and Hayden can do the same within the scheduled program.
Honda has had some problems adapting to the new maximum displacement which is now down to 800cc, but the work done during the season means that the Repsol team riders are now getting very close to the performance on the other top bikes, such as the Yamaha and the Ducati. In fact at Montmelo Pedrosa's Honda was able to keep up with the leaders, Rossi and Stoner, during the whole race and in the recent British GP Hayden was in the leading group until a fall in the rain stopped him from getting a good result.
