When Victoria agreed to go to a MotoGP race weekend at the Americas Grand Prix with her partner Austin, little did she know it would end with her getting engaged and the story being shared with the entirety of the sport's expansive community.
Against the backdrop of some of the greatest riders in the sport's history on one of the greatest tracks of the calendar, the couple's love story turned from a simple "yes" to attend the race to getting engaged at the very top of the iconic COTA tower - a spot that extends 251 feet above the circuit.
"A year since their engagement, MotoGP reached out to the couple via Instagram to invite them back to where it began. As a belated wedding gift and to celebrate their engagement anniversary, #MotoGP invited them for a special weekend full of surprises!" reads the resulting Instagram post. Within an hour or so of posting, it garnered thousands of likes.
"Wish them a life full of love, joy and race weekends!" the caption ended.
"I thought I was getting scammed," Austin said on receiving the invite from the sport. "I thought they were about to ask for my credit card information."

Unlike many sports social media channels that focus on highlights, MotoGP has mastered the art of humanising the sport by featuring the personalities of riders and passion of fans. This has awarded the sport with 50 million followers across their digital platforms and one of the biggest WhatsApp channels in global sports.
"When we met, he'd never heard of MotoGP," Austin confirmed. "And had never seen motorcycle racing. And I was a big fan since 2018 so I was like, 'hey, listen, do you wanna go and watch MotoGP with me at the Circuit of the Americas?'
"And she was like, 'okay'. She agreed to go, and then as we got there, I hadn't planned on proposing to her, but since she decided to come and watch MotoGP with me, I was like, 'if she is willing to do that, she is probably willing to hang out for a long time.'"
With the couple looking forward to "a life full of love, joy, and race weekends," they seemingly have as much love for the sport as they do for each other.
