Interesting battle throughout the race produced Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham, who fought with Cal Crutchlow for top five finish and also for the Rookie of the Year award. Unfortunately, Cardion AB Motoracing rider crashed on the last lap and eventually crossed the finish line in eighth place.

Start of the race was affected by crash of four riders. Abraham, who started the race from the fourth row on the grid, moved up to sixth position and started to battling with Cal Crutchlow. The British rider was only one point ahead of the Czech rider in overall standings. „The race was perfect. It was a good battle between me and Cal. I think everybody injoyed it,“ he said.

A light rain started to drop on the track a few laps before the end of the race and all rider’s lap times were slower. But Karel Abraham and Cal Crutchlow still pushed their bikes to the limits and managed to eliminate the gap between them and Dani Pedrosa in fourth position.

Abraham overtook his British rival on the last lap and also managed to overtake Pedrosa. „I had hoped that Dani will slow Cal a little bit and I will make some gap,“ continued Abraham, who changed the position with Crutchlow few times, but then got in contact with Cal’s bike and went off the track. „I knew that he will try to overtake me in that corner, but I was too fast and touched his rear tire.“

Although Karel Abraham crashed at Turn 11, he re-joined the race and eventually finished in eighth position. „What can I say. I’m so sorry because It was a very good race. Plus, it could be my best result of the year and I could get award for the best rookie. It’s a shame, but things like this happen. This season has been quite unlucky for us, but I believe that we will have more luck next season,“ Cardion AB Motoracing rider added.

With 64 points, Karel Abraham finished fourteenth in the overall standings and admitted: „If I would managed well in the races we had full of back luck, I could easily have twenty more points.“

Karel Abraham will take over the new Ducati Desmosedici GP12 tomorrow. „I have a big respect for this bike, but I’m looking forward to test it. Every change of the class or a motorcyle meant progress for me and I’m hoping that this time it will be the same,“ concluded Abraham.
