Tom Luthi will lead for the Grand Prix of Jerez the second row on the grid

The Swiss Tom Luthi will lead the second row on the starting grid for the Grand Prix of Jerez de la Frontera. This means he will start directly behind the pole position into the race. Luthi also dominated the qualifying after he finished the second free practice this morning on third place. He even was leading the session in between. Just before the end of the qualifying the youngster from Bern could avoid a crash, but this did cost him two positions on the grid and he will start his second race in the new Moto2 class from fifth spot on the grid.

Tom Luthi, 1'44.573 -- 5:
The qualifying went really well. I even was third shortly before the finish. Then I almost crashed and I lost two positions for that. That is a pity, but fifth is still not bad. My target was to start the race from first or second row and I achieved that. If I will have a good start into the race tomorrow, all is possible.

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
The fifth place is good. I would have been also happy if we could have started the race from the first row, but to start one place behind the pole setter is good. Everything is possible for tomorrow. We never were at our limit in the qualifying, we still do better and therefore I hope Tom finished on the podium.
