Misano GP: second row for JiR riders in qualifying with 6th and 7th
It was qualifying day in Misano for Simone Corsi and Alex De Angelis, who grabbed 6th and 7th positions respectively for tomorrow's GP of San Marino. They both were fast in this morning's free practice and tested some little adjustments on their MotoBIs that had the potential to make them even faster. Progress has been solid, but not enough to gain the front row. Tomorrow they will have to start attacking immediately to try to get to the front of the pack and pursue a podium finish.
Simone Corsi - 6th time - 1'39"664
"Yesterday we did a good job and also today we saw some improvements, even if we're not at 100% of our potential yet. The front row would have been better, but the second is not so bad because we have a good pace and the race will be long. Toni Elias went very fast in the lap that gave him the pole, but we will keep up with him and we'll also have to watch out for other Italians, as they're always very fast here. With a good start tomorrow I can stay close to leading positions and make a play for a good result at the end."
Alex De Angelis - 7th time - 1'39"686
"I was sure that repeating yesterday's exploits would have been very hard, but I'm satisfied for the second row and also for the good feeling I have with the Team. Today we tried to modify some details and we were expecting better results, therefore tomorrow we'll have to revise our setting according to the data we collected today, in particular to find back the feeling with the front of the bike. During qualifying I missed the one hot lap, but we have a good pace and tomorrow this will help. Tyre choice will be interesting because the race will be long and probably the weather will become hot. I will have to make a good start, attack from the very beginning and fight till the end of the race."
