GP of Motegi First Free Practice: three JiR riders in top seven!

Today saw a good start for the JiR Team at the Japanese track of Motegi, with three riders within the top seven. Simone Corsi and Alex De Angelis went on track with similar settings, while TSR's test rider Yusuke Teshima testing an alternative set-up solution that gave important data for the machines' development. This result, even if still only in free practice, proves the validity of the team's technical base and is also an incentive to riders and technicians to improve still further in qualifying tomorrow.

Alex De Angelis - 3 rd place: 1'54"456
"This first session is certainly positive, the third is a good result because it confirms the good feeling I have with the MotoBI and it is in good shape. I could have been faster if we only wouldn't have wasted some time in the pits to fix a technical problem, but tomorrow we'll have more time to further improve. We'll also have to find the right set-up to fix the rear tyre that is a little unstable, but once more this is just a matter of doing some little steps forward."

Simone Corsi - 6th place: 1'55"051
"I'm pretty satisfied for how this first session went because the sixth-best time is a good performance that confirms that the machine is ok, but most of all because we have understood where I lose time from faster riders. The analysis says we need to fine tune our set-up and I have to work on my riding style, trying to find the best lines and for this the telemetry gave me important directions I can work in. For this I'm pretty confident that tomorrow we'll be able to improve our performance."

Yusuke Teshima - 7 th place: 1'55"107
"It's nice to be in top 10 as it has been some time since riding a Moto2 machine. I've never ridden here in Motegi with this bike's configuration and seventh place is a good result. I tested different set-ups compared to Corsi and De Angelis to give the team good reference points to work on. In any case I want to make a good performance also in the race, therefore for tomorrow's qualifying we'll need to modify a little bit my set-up to gain some more confidence when it comes to the weight transfer on my bike during acceleration and braking."
