Luthi finishes first free practice in Motegi in good middle field

The first free practice at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan did end quite well for Tom Luthi and the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team. The first of three consecutive overseas races is the home race of the chassis supplier Moriwaki and Luthi wants to give them the best possible result this weekend. After the first day, there still are some changes to be made on the set up to catch up the second Luthi is missing to the leading group. But the team is confident that the target will be hit in these three days of Japanese Grand Prix.

Tom Luthi, 13 -- 1'55.328:
"The practice was not so bad today and we are quite satisfied with it. At the end we lost a second and we are not happy about that, but we changed a couple of setting and this went quite positive. Of course I want to improve over the weekend and I think I can meet our target of being further in front at the end of the race."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"The start of the practice was good as usual. At the end we lost some time and were not able to stay with the front. A few settings have to still be changed and tomorrow we will see where we can be."
