Tom Luthi; podium missed by a place

Already the whole weekend Tom Luthi was "on Top" and a podium at the Grand Premio d'Italia was more than possible. Many laps he was fighting in a very exciting battle with Simone Corsi and Sergio Gadea for second or third, but finished the race as fourth.

The young Swiss proved once again after this successful weekend that he can be in front and battle with the leaders of the class. A problem with the rear tyre, that was worn out quite fast and started to slide, prevented the 24 years old Youngster from doing so this time. At the Grand Prix of Silverstone in two weeks time Luthi will try to attack the front again.

Tom Luthi, 4 -- 41'2.814:
"Unfortunately I could not make it onto the podium. It would have been possible, but my rear tyre was worn out so fast and started to slide around that I had to be careful. This was a big fight, but it all was fair. We are up there and can ride in front with the leading group. I will attack again in Silverstone."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"It is a pity that Tom didn't make it on the podium. But at these conditions and with these temperatures the tyres did suffer a bit and especially the rear tyre caused some problems, so Tom couldn't go full speed at the end of the race. But we saw once again that we can be up in front and that makes us confident for the coming race."
