Luthi will start from first row on the grid again

After Tom Luthi did already start the TT Assen one week ago from first row, the 23 years old rode on the first row again today in the qualifying for the Gran Premi de Catalunya, just one week after the surgery on a broken collarbone. Tomorrow's race Luthi will start from third position. The whole day Luthi showed a strong performance. He was leading the second free practice this morning and finished it fastest. Also the qualifying he was in the lead most of the time. Despite the surgery on his left collarbone Luthi was seen in his best shape again, which people were missing from him in the last couple of years.

Tom Luthi, 3 -- 1'47.973:

"Today and the whole weekend went great so far. I was riding constantly fast. In qualifying I was leading most of the time, but I knew that the others would try to fight back their positions. Iannone again had a very fast time and we will have to take care that he will not fly away tomorrow in the race. Apart from that all went well. The only thing I am not quite happy with is that at the end of the sessions there are always slower riders waiting on the ideal line and it didn't only destroy my good rhythm, it is also very dangerous."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:

"I am glad that Tom will start the race from first row. The team and Tom did a very good job. They prepared the session very well. Unfortunately some slow riders were waiting on the track again and Tom had to break. But this was not only like this for Tom, it was the same for other riders and that is dangerous. For the race I have a good feeling."
