Luthi part of the leading group at rainy Silverstone

Tom Luthi was leading the way during the first free practice at the traditional racetrack in Silverstone and was mainly part of the Top five riders this session. The british track seems to suit the Swiss as despite heavy rain he was part of the leading group throughout most of the session. Just at the end of the practice, when it started to rain even heavier, the 24 years old stepped back a little bit as he didn't want to risk anything this first time on the new track. The track is not easy to handle and therefore Luthi and the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team are quite satisfied with the final eleventh place.

Tom Luthi, 11 -- 2'29745:
"A quarter hour before the start of the practice it started to rain heavily and we had to start to adjust the bike set up to the rain. Step by step we changed the settings and I was one of the first riders out on track. I was on the track with my scooter yesterday and had a quite good picture of it. Everything will be different when it is getting dry again, so we will have to see where we are then. Anyway I found the practice positive as we were up in front with the group. At the end I stepped back a little bit not to risk anything as this was just the first free practice."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"I am satisfied with the first free practice. Tom was leading the way for a bit and was always part of the leading group until the end when he didn't want to risk anything. It started to rain quite heavy and it was better to not risk too much this time."
