Luthi misses out on Top 10 just by one tenth

The Australian Grand Prix 2010 was not an easy weekend for Tom Luthi, who experienced many ups and downs here. The weekend started with 10th place in free practice one, and then continued with 15th place in free practice two and the race Luthi started from 12th position on the grid and finished 11th, after he was Fifth on wet tarmac during the Warm up this morning. Maybe the choice of the rear tyre was not the right one and the reason for the result of the young Swiss. You can defiantly count this weekend as one of the hardest on the MotoGP calendar, but this feeling the 24 year old shares with the whole MotoGP paddock, as everybody suffered from the cold and icy wind and the unusual conditions. The next race will take place on European sole again, where the temperatures will hopefully be higher than the 15C on Phillip Island.

Tom Luthi, 11 - 40'18.779:
"I didn't have a bad start and I could stay with the group. But once again the race was very aggressive with a lot of touching. Then I was not able to stick with the group at the end and the result is the 11th place."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"This was not an easy weekend for the whole team. The conditions are unpredictable here. We chose a harder rear tyre for the race and maybe that decision was wrong, but you never know such things in advance. With the rain settings we were completely okay, then it dried off and it was not optimal anymore. Now we concentrate on Estoril and see how it goes there."
