DE PUNIET ON TRACK AGAIN DESPITE RIGHT ARM INJURY

After yesterday's GP of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini which saw Rossi on the top of the podium followed by Lorenzo and Elias, some of the MotoGP teams and riders had an additional day of on-track work at the Italian circuit before the next Indianapolis GP on the 14 of September. The 800cc riders have enjoyed good conditions with blue skies and ambient temperature of 31C and a track temperature of 46C.

After his yesterday's unlucky race, the LCR Honda MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet made significant improvements chasing a good set up for his Michelin-shod Honda RC212V completing a marathon 50-laps. The Frenchman worked with his Team mainly on and tyre testing for Michelin clocking his best lap time of 1'35.972 despite the contusion in his right arm due to yesterday's crash which prevented him to fight for the top-five positions. Today's pacesetter Pedrosa produced a best lap time of 1'34.652.

De Puniet -- 4th : "It was not easy for me today because the right arm aches a lot. Anyway I made 50 laps working mainly on tyre testing but we also made some adjustments on the braking system and we tired different regulations on the front fork to get some data for next over sea races. This week I will do some extra exams including one x-ray to check my arm in order to bat in a good form for Indianapolis race".
