DE PUNIET FOURTH OVERALL AT JEREZ

Jerez de la Frontera: The LCR Honda MotoGP Team has completed today the first "official" test of the year at Jerez de la Frontera by making some important improvements to the performance of its 2008 machine. Today's frontrunner Nicky Hayden set a 1'38.848 lap time whilst Randy De Puniet proceeded his set-up work aboard the Michelin-shod Honda RC212V getting the 4th position(1'39.351).

The Frenchman made 68 laps in total improving his Friday's lap time on race tyres. Today's last day if testing was held in windy conditions and Randy came out in the early afternoon to test several Michelin tyres including two Q-tyres. The LCR Honda MotoGP Team will move to Losail (Qatar) for the next official test before the season kick off on the 9 of March.

De Puniet: "Today we focused our work mainly on tyres testing getting good results. Today's conditions were not perfect so we started at 2 pm and the wind was very strong. However we tested some rear tyres improving our pace and, at the end of the day, I came out on qualifiers improving my lap time as well thus I feel pretty satisfied. This track is to short to develop the new engine so we will work it out in Qatar".
