Hector Looks For Good Result At Motegi
The Motegi circuit is preparing to host the Grand Prix of Japan this weekend as the MotoGP teams and riders arrive for the fourteenth round of the season. Long haul flights, jet lag and sleepless nights await the paddock over the next three weeks as the championship enters its most demanding phase, with Motegi, Sepang and Philip Island all set to host races. Each track always has its own level of intrigue and this year is no different, with the title possibly set to be decided between Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, the only two riders still holding a mathematical chance. All of the Japanese factory riders will look to shine at their employers' home race although Ducati are in a good spell of form thanks to a double podium last time out in Spain.
Paginas Amarillas rider Hector Barbera cannot wait to get started in the country where he made his Grand Prix debut back in 2002. He has won races there in the smaller categories and has a suitcase full of good memories to take with him. His weekend did not go to plan at Motorland two weeks ago and he is looking to compensate for that at Motegi.
"Motegi beings back a lot of memories -- some good, some bad. I took the second victory of my career there so it has a special place in my heart but it was also the scene of one of my worst injuries. I think Motegi can suit the Ducati and I am confident of a good result this weekend. I always enjoy visiting Japan and I feel comfortable riding there. Last year didn't go to plan but I am sure it can be better this time on the Ducati. I am going to go for it -- I am in a good run of form, possibly my best of the season. I just want to focus on enjoying myself and improving at the same time to make sure we get to Valencia feeling like we have done our job. I feel confident and will be pushing hard to see what I am capable of."
