ALICE TEAM READY FOR INDIANAPOLIS DEBUT
For the first time the MotoGP World Championship will race at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, theater of great car races like the famous Indy 500 miles of Indianapolis. Capital of the state of Indiana, Indianapolis is the twelfth most populous city of United States of America with almost 800 thousands people and it is sister city with Italian city Monza, also very well known for motor competition. The circuit had many modifications to be able to host the MotoGP race and all the riders will have to learn its secrets as fast as possible. The Alice Team arrives to the fourteenth MotoGP round with a lot of enthusiasm thanks to the two consecutive podiums conquered by Spanish rider Toni Elias.
Fabiano Sterlacchini, Alice Team Technical Director, is ready for the new American challenge: "After many years of racing is surely a pleasure to begin to work on a brand new circuit where we don't have any information to refer to. It will be fun to find out the circuit secrets lap after lap together with our riders. It is a fascinating circuit and we hope to continue the positive form also here. Toni has now confirmed all his talent, he has found a good riding style and we are sure that he will be able to perform well. On the other side I expect a reaction from Sylvain who hasn't yet gave us great emotions. He has surely also been very unlucky in a couple of occasions, but now he absolutely must give his best to bring home a good result."
With two consecutive podiums Toni Elias is surely in good form and he wants to continue to do well in this final part of the season: "Adding the points conquered in the last three races I am second only behind Valentino Rossi who has always won in these three occasion. This for me is a really important statistic: we have found, together with my Team, a good method of work which allow us to result fast since the first laps so that we can be able to stay with the fastest. In addition I made it to find a good rhythm style on my Ducati Desmosedici GP8 Sat. I have seen some of my pictures of the last race in Misano and it shows that I am now really enjoying being on the track. I am happy to find a new circuit. It is always nice to learn new tracks where you can start from the same level with your opponents."
Sylvain Guintoli, on the contrary, hasn't yet made it to show his best on track: "I tried, with all my energies, but in the last period at every session there was something that didn't work properly. At Laguna Seca and Brno I thought I could enter the top five in the race, but some complications slowed us down in the race. I hope that the wheel of fortune will also spin in my direction because I really need it. It took me away a lot and now I have to do well. My Team has always believed in me since the first test and I would like to give them some satisfaction before the end of the season. Indianapolis will be a big question mark for all riders. With my engineer Sergio Verbena we will work hard to give our best."
