Iannone to start last in Assen after Lorenzo crash
Ducati's Andrea Iannone will be forced to start from the back of the grid in MotoGP's next race at Assen, after the Italian crashed into Jorge Lorenzo during the Catalan Grand Prix.
Iannone lost control of his bike at Turn 10 and hit Lorenzo on lap 17 at high speed, with the reigning world champion flying off his Yamaha and landing in the tarmac run-off.
The Italian had previously incurred a three-place grid penalty for a collision with teammate Andrea Dovizioso in Argentina.
He has become the first rider to be sent to the back of the grid for the next race since Valentino Rossi's penalty after the seven-time champion's clash with Marc Marquez at Sepang in 2015.
Ducati has already confirmed a Lorenzo-Dovizioso line-up for 2017, with Iannone joining Suzuki instead.
