DE PUNIET EAGER TO BE BACK ON TRACK AT SACHSENRING

Sachsenring, 10 July 2008: After a busy month in June, Randy de Puniet and his LCR Honda MotoGP Team arrived at Sachsenring for the Alice Grand Prix of Deutschland. Wet weather seems to be the real protagonist of this first part of the season as the rain hit the German track throughout the day whilst the Teams are busy with the machines set-up.

Riding the Michelin-shod Honda RC212V De Puniet aims to get a good result after the unlucky race in Assen when the 27-year-old lost the chance to fight for the top-five after a collision with Rossi in the first lap. The Frenchman feels confident for the tenth round of the season at the 3.671 km track as his overall package is pretty competitive now either in wet or dry conditions.

De Puniet: "The track is very strange: the first part is very slow then the second one becomes faster but I like this track. Last year I was fourth on the grid and made a good race till the last lap when the engine broke. In 250cc class I gained good results so I can easily say this track suits to my riding style. In the last three races we made a big step forward and the bike set-up is almost perfect. In Assen I was fast both in the wet and in the dry but the crash with Valentino ruined my plan to end the race in the top-five".
