Rolfo and the Fortuna Team rewarded for their hard work with a front row grid position
Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz) 10 May -- Roberto Rolfo and the Fortuna Honda team are very happy with the work accomplished so far this weekend in Jerez de la Frontera and are optimisitc regarding the third grand prix of the year in Spain, even though there is still much work to do.
The evolution of the Fortuna Honda has been constant and the times they are achieving that are going in the right direction, though there are still details that need to corrected that will allow them to gain the 1/10ths of seconds vital to get on to the podium.
Rolfo concluded the second practice session in Jerez happy with how the week in Andalusia had gone. "The bike has improved greatly since winter testing and means that it is now much easier to get a base setting."
"We still however some work to do and we are going to try a few things during the warm up that we hope will give positive results. If we hadn't run into traffic at the end of the last qualifing session we could have got a better grid position -- but in any case we are fairly happy," added the Fortuna Honda rider as he was getting off the bike.
Massimo Capanna, the technical chief of the Fortuna Honda team is also happy with the bike's progress. "We are evolving race by race -- but the biggest improvement came in South Africa. Now however we are closer than ever to exploiting the bike's potential and Roberto has a much better understanding the bike's reactions."
"The bike has changed a lot compared with last season, Roberto is a talented rider but obviously needs time to adapt -- a process that he is achieving perfectly. We are working very closely with Honda and are seeing the results on the track."
