The Le Mans rain restricts Roberto Rolfo's efforts too find a good wet race set up
The rain restricted the working plan of Team Fortuna Honda and rider Roberto Rolfo on the second day of practice for the French Grand Prix. The water on the track required the team to make several modifications in order to find a good wet race set up, but always with the clear objective of continuing the overall evolution of the RS250RW Fortuna Honda.
In general Rolfo is satisfied with the development because the direction the modifications have dictated, have been effective. They have allowed the Altadis rider to squeeze the maximum performance possible out of the machine, and take sixth fastest time in the wet qualifying session. A very difficult task in the unusually slippery conditions.
Roberto Rolfo, still wearing his wet suit at the end of the session, said. "I'm happy with the improvement made from this mornings free practice to the qualifying session. The job was to find a good compromise between the chassis and engine performance to try and keep the Fortuna Honda at the same level as our main rivals in such conditions. I think we have found a good solution and we are ready for tomorrow, if the conditions are the same as today. Another question is that all the changes we have been making will be good in case of wet races, as this is our first wet experience with the RS250RW Fortuna Honda." Said Rolfo who starts tomorrow's race from ninth place on he grid.
"Anyway, tomorrow we have too start the race with the conviction of defending our position in the championship and continue to concentrate our efforts along the line same lines of development with all our energy. The championship has a very long way to run." Concluded the Fortuna Honda rider.
