Roberto Rolfo held back by niggling mechanical problems

Roberto Rolfo's performance in the first qualifying session for the 250cc Catalunya Grand Prix, at the Montmelo circuit, was hampered by niggling mechanical problems. The series of minor technical problems made it impossible for Rolfo to realise the maximum potential of the Fortuna Honda.

Rolfo finished the first qualifying session in provisional ninth place on the grid but has a very positive feeling that he can improve in tomorrows free practice session, and final qualifying in the afternoon. The engineers from Honda could not find the route cause for the loss of power during first qualifying but are working hard to analyse and resolve the power problems

"We have a power problem with the bike, the first time we have had that experience and we have been working hard to resolve it all afternoon, it is difficult to analyse. For that reason I was unable to exploit the full potential of the Fortuna Honda, with reference to the handling and suspension qualities." Said the Fortuna Honda rider.

"The engine performance was far from adequate in today's hot conditions, the set up of the Fortuna Honda cannot be decided, and neither the lap times in these circumstances. I hope we can radically reverse the situation overnight and I will be able to fight to be with the best riders in the category in qualifying tomorrow," said the optimistic Rolfo.
