Rossi was seen gesticulating angrily at Espargaro in the early minutes of second practice, the Yamaha rider convinced the Spaniard impeded him on a flying lap.

And after the session, the Suzuki man was subsequently approached by Webb, who told him to "be more aware".

"He [Webb] came to the pits and he told me to be more aware, and I asked him if they checked the video," Espargaro recounted.

"He said "yes, you were not in the middle [of the track], you didn't disturb him'. And he said to me 'but anyway, be more aware'.

"I said 'I will not be more aware, I didn't disturb him'. I repeated three times 'you checked the video, did I disturb him', he told me 'no'."

Speaking in Spanish, Espargaro also made a dig at Rossi, saying: "Valentino seemed a little nervous, which is all well and good - but if he is nervous, he should have some tea, because I did not bother him."

Rossi: "Not the first time" Espargaro impedes me

Asked about his spat with Espargaro, Rossi said he was frustrated by the Spaniard impeding him being a repeat occurrence.

"It's not the first time because it happened exactly the same also in Austria," Rossi said.

"I push and I ride behind the two Suzukis and both riders see me, [Maverick] Vinales and Espargaro.

"Vinales slows down but Espargaro remain on the line and I don't know why.

"After I say to him, I say to him what to do, and he says to me 'f*** you'."
