The Pramac d'Antin MotoGP riders both obtained points on the Catalan circuit, Alex Hofmann and Jose Luis Cardoso arrived respectively 10th and 11th under the chequered flag, and the Spanish rider managed to conquer his first points in front of his public, in Spain. A good satisfaction for all the sponsors and the supporters that were present here in Barcelona to watch the race of the Team Pramac d'Antin MotoGP riders on their Ducati Desmosedici GP06 "Sat.". A race that needed a second start after a big crash in the first corner of the first lap that involved lots of riders and forced the race direction to immediately stop the race.
After this Grand Prix, the MotoGP "circus" is directly going to Assen in Holland, where there will be the next race, on Saturday 24th June.
ALEX HOFMANN #66 (10th): "There have been two starts and I did both of them really good. After the second one, I tried to stay with Ellison but it wasn't possible, I was also risking a lot and that's why I prefered not to push too much anymore. The 10th position is a good result and I get 6 more points for the general classification, but I have to admit I don't really like to get points because of the misfortunes of other riders and I'm really sorry for all those who crashed after the first start. On the other hand, I only hope that the things will improve during each next Grand Prix".
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (11th): "Today I finished my race, it was very important for me to conquest some points in front of my public and our sponsors, here in Spain. There also are my first points of the year in the general classification of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. At the beginning of the race, I was behind my Team mate, ALEX HOFMANN, but unfortunately, then, I had some difficulties that limited my performance. I hope to give continuity to this result already from Assen".
LUIS D'ANTIN (Team Manager): "The positive thing of the day is the final position of our riders. Unfortunately, for the rest, we never experienced a work situation of this kind and neither even thought we would have to do it. This is a difficult and very hard moment for the riders but also for the whole technical staff. The only thing we could do today was to ride lap after lap, to finish the race, and we hope that things will go in a better way in the future".
