Ranseder in Donington from row five

Michi Ranseder will start the British 125cc Grand Prix from the fifth row. The new team leader of Italian outfit CBC Corse recorded his best lap in qualifying in 1:39.081 minutes to place 17th.

"Fortunately, it did not rain for a change, so we could improve the bike's setup a lot. Thus, my lap times were promising right from the beginning of the qualifying. However, on my final run too much traffic kept me from finishing further up on the grid," Ranseder said, who believes he and his team are "clearly on the right tracks".

The 23-year-old quickly found his rhythm and already secured his best time on the East Midland track in lap eleven. Although he recorded a number of 1:39.6 minute laps towards the end of the session, he failed to improve further. In the dying seconds of the aualifiyings Spaniard Efren Vazquez kicked Ranseder out of row four.

Local hero Bradley Smith has made British home fans cheer, starting from pole. The three Spanish riders Marc Marquez, Julian Simon and Sergio Gadea complete the first row. The 125cc race will start at 12:30 local time.
