As the MotoGP teams return to Sepang for another pre-season test, MotoGP.com sat down with HRC's main hope, Max Biaggi, and discussed his place at HRC, his relationship with his teammate and Erv Kanemoto, his perception of a 'whiner" in certain motorcycle circles and his outlook on his main competitors in 2005.

In regards to his place at HRC, Biaggi said: "in Italian we call it 'cavallo di punta', which means 'main horse', so I'm eating hay every morning for breakfast! Joking aside, being part of HRC is fantastic for me and, above all, a big motivation."

Though the two had a few run-ins in 2004, his relationship with his teammate, Nicky Hayden appears to be "cool", "Nicky, in his own words, is cool. In Italian we'd say he's a 'figo', a nice guy and really relaxed," commented Biaggi, while he praised his new crew chief, "Erv doesn't need any introductions - he's a definite asset."

There are few who can deny Biaggi's speed, however, sometimes when he lacks it, he appears to blame it on technical difficulties. This is going to change in 2005, "Some people will be ready to make judgments about the success of the next test, as if you can build a winning bike in two weeks, but I've had enough. I want to say something that I've never said before: you won't hear any more excuses from me. I'm fed up with this stereotype which has been pinned on me. I know perfectly well that there are certain people out there waiting for me to start blaming some technical problem or other. I know journalists and all they ask me about is chattering. Well this year I'm looking forward to disappointing them. The only chattering will be with their pens or microphones. If I do have any technical problems I'll just discuss them with my team, who has my complete confidence," said Biaggi.

Oddly, his outlook on the 2005 competition is the same as his archrival, Valentino Rossi. "Rossi's right. You can write that: 'Biaggi says that Rossi is right.'" said Biaggi as he and Rossi referred to the main competitors in 2005 being Rossi, Biaggi, Sete Gibernau and Ducati.

Testing will commence this Friday and will conclude on Sunday. Be sure to check here for the latest updates.
