Alpine becomes Pramac's main partner in MotoGP

Alpine has confirmed it will team up with the Pramac MotoGP squad for the 2025 season, becoming the Italian outfit’s "main partner".

As revealed by Motorsport.com in December last year, the French marque will join forces with Pramac, which won the 2024 MotoGP riders' championship with Jorge Martin. It meant that Pramac became the first independent team to achieve the feat since 2001, when Valentino Rossi won on a satellite Honda.

While Pramac will continue to have Prima as its title sponsor, it will now share the spotlight with Alpine, Renault's sports car division. Alpine competes in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship with its own team.

The agreement is the result of the close relationship between Renault CEO Luca de Meo and Pramac team principal Paolo Campinoti.

De Meo was also involved in a similar case of a carmaker sponsoring a MotoGP team when he was the director of the Fiat Group, which partnered with Yamaha from 2007 to 2010.

Alpine's director of sales and marketing Antonino Labate added: "This alliance will create new experiences for customers and fans passionate about motorsport.

"Alpine and Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP share common values, of course, but more importantly, the same spirit; the passion for performance.”

Pramac will reunite with Yamaha for the 2025 season, becoming the Japanese manufacturer's second customer team after parting ways with Ducati following its successful 2024 campaign.

The Italian team, which will run Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller in its line-up, will unveil its livery on 31 January ahead of the start of pre-season testing the following week at Sepang.
