A determined race by Yuki Takahashi, who finishes sixth in Brno
After two days of tests with uncertain weather conditions, the Czech Republic 250cc Grand Prix set out under optimum conditions. Yuki Takahashi shot from the second row and entered the first turn in fourth position, but an error in the first lap pushed him down the order and he was forced to make a fight back. As he pressed on towards the end of the race he finally reached and passed Mattia Pasini on the final lap, to cross the finishing line in sixth position. This is a major achievement that allows Yuki to gain a position in the championship standings, and motivates the JiR Team Scot rider to look forward to the next appointment at the Misano circuit.
Cirano Mularoni - Team Manager, Team Scot JiR
"Today we received a satisfactory result, that allows us to gain a position in the championship standings. Yuki had a determined race, with a great start. Too bad for the mistake that forced him to make a comeback: but this showed his determination. This has been a positive weekend for Yuki, who took a sixth place on a track, which really isn't friendly to our machine. This result was due to everyone working hard together as a team."

"I am very satisfied with the result today, because I have taken important points for the standings and I gave my very maximum in the race. I started well but in the third corner I ended up on the dirt and in danger of crashing, this made me lose time and I was down in eleventh position. It was difficult, but I never gave up and on the last lap I reached Pasini and I managed to pass him before the chequered flag. It was an important weekend for the team and I, because we continually improved and the result today motivates us to continue to do so. We are all encouraged now to do as best we can the next Grand Prix at Misano, my ‘second home race' because I live in Italy near the circuit. I thank the team today that has done an excellent job over the whole weekend."
Gianni Berti - Technical Coordinator, JiR Team Scot
"Yuki has conducted a good race and during the weekend has steadily improved. During the race he was able to confront and beat opponents in a determined manner and this has been a major achievement. He has been consistently fast which is good. Congratulations also to the team that has put in maximum effort all weekend."
