Ramirez to replace Webb at Platinum Bay
Marcos Ramirez will take the place of Danny Webb at Platinum Bay in the Moto3 championship from Red Bull Ring onward.
The 18-year-old sits second in the CEV Moto3 Junior championship with two wins to his name, riding the KTM for Leopard Junior Stratos.
The Spanish rider will make his Moto3 world championship debut in the 10th round at Spielberg with Platinum Bay, riding the Indian manufacturer Mahindra's MGP3O.
"I'm very happy, it is a big step for my career and now I finally realized my dream to be on the track with the best riders in the world," Ramirez said, upon the announcement.
"The Team Platinum Bay, gave me an incredible opportunity and I have to thank Fiorenzo Caponera for this chance that I consider decisive for my career.
"I'll give my best in the next 9 races of Moto3 Championship. I also have to thank Ricar Jovè and Manuel Bernat for allow me to take this chance and LS2 helmets because always trusted me in these years. See you in Austria!"
Ramirez will join regular Darryn Binder, replacing British rider Webb, who came in as a replacement for Karel Hanika, for the rounds in Netherlands and Germany.
