The 2015 Moto3 champion has made three grand prix starts since abruptly parting ways with the Kiefer outfit in in April after completing just two races for the team.

He replaced an injured Iker Leucona at Mugello for the Interwetten Moto2 team, and made two wildcards for his former Ajo KTM Moto3 squad at Le Mans and the Sachsenring.

Now the 23-year-old Briton has been handed another chance to race in the intermediate class, this time on board an Intact-run Suter, with regular rider Schrotter on the sidelines with a broken wrist.

"This year has been a bit strange for me, because obviously I rode the Suter, then switched to Moto3 and then rode the Kalex in Mugello," admitted Kent. "A lot of changing bikes for me this season.

"I started the year with Suter and from what I've heard they changed some things with the bike. So I'm quite excited to see what is different."

Schrotter underwent surgery on Monday with the aim of being able to race in Austria this weekend, but did not travel to Spielberg on Thursday for medical checks.
