Nine-time Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association and current Main Event record holder of 80 race, Randy Roberts and his wife Cindy were critically injured in a motorcycle accident on August 12, 2000.

The couple was struck by a vehicle while returning home from attending a race in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Cindy received three compound fractures to her right leg and a broken pelvis. Currently, she is recovering from her second surgery in a Greeley, Colorado hospital. Randy received massive head injuries and a broken left ankle. He is currently awaiting transfer to Craig Medical Center in Denver. The vehicle that struck the couple left the scene and has yet to be located. A fund for the couple has been established at a Denver bank. Donations may be sent to the following address:
