2004 All FlatOut Team Honors Rahmer, Bull, Others
ST. CLOUD, MN (January 3, 2005) -- The votes are in and the people have spoken. Throughout the month of December, visitors to the new website associated with FlatOut Magazine, www.flatoutxr.com, were invited to vote candidates onto the All FlatOut Team. Five members were nominated in the categories of 410 Sprint, 360 Sprint, Midget and Non-Wing Sprints and ten drivers were pooled into a wild card category. The top vote getter in each category, including the Wild Card winner, was placed on the first team.
Surprisingly, a pair of Pennsylvania drivers, Fred Rahmer and Ray Bull, beat out Steve Kinser and Bobby East in the 410 and Midget polls, respectively. Although Kinser and East may have had statistically superior years, web visitors were more impressed with Rahmer's 34 wins, including wins at eight tracks and against the World of Outlaws and the All Stars. Bull, for his part, scored 11 ARDC Midget wins en route to his fourth consecutive championship. In 360 voting, another 20 plus win season with victories against USCS, TBARA, URC and KARS for Kenny Adams impressed voters enough that he edged out Gary Wright.
Meanwhile, on the non-wing charts, Cory Kruseman beat out his Tony Stewart stablemate Jay Drake for first team honors. A pair of Indiana Sprintweek victories, the Oval Nationals title at Perris, and a Hulman Classic score at Terre Haute highlighted Kruseman's season. In the wild card race, Greg Hodnett's final season in the Apple 12 car netted him enough votes to edge out Shane Stewart. Hodnett quietly won 18 features in 2004, including the Tuscarora 50, the Selinsgrove Open, two Pennsylvania Speedweek shows and seven races at Williams Grove.
