PLACERVILLE SEASON OPENER CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN AND SNOW

PLACERVILLE, CA 4-3-99 - The 1999 Placerville Speedway season opener featuring the Northern Auto Racing Club sprint cars and Modified Midgets has been officially cancelled due to weather.

At approximately 9 a.m. an unexpected cold front moved through El Dorado County dropping nearly an inch of snow on the 1/4 mile clay oval located on the El Dorado County Fairground. This is the first time in recent history that an event at Placerville has been cancelled due to snow, rain outs were common during the 1998 but rarely has it snowed low enough during the race season to cause a problem.

Front gates to the speedway will open at 5 p.m.Qualifying will begin at 6:30 followed by racing at 7. For any further information contact the office of John PadjenMotorsports at (916) 969-7484.
