O'Reilly Chili Bowl Entries Update
TULSA, Okla. (December 9, 2005) -- Another dozen entries for the upcoming 20th Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, which will take place January 11-14, 2006, at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, were filed today, bringing the current pre-entry total to 241.
Among the latest entries are four-time All Star champion Chad Kemenah of Findlay, OH, and 2005 National Midget Driver of the Year Brad Kuhn of Avon, IN.
Kemenah joins forces with NHRA Funny Car drag racer Cruz Pedregon, whose entry was also received today, for his first Chili Bowl attempt. The Sprint Car standout, piloting a Fontana-powered No. 71c Spike chassis, joins a stout field of Chili Bowl Rookie contenders that also includes Wayne Johnson, Kevin Swindell, Chad Boat, Darren Hagen, National Non-Wing Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Brady Short and Late Model aces Steve Francis and Josh Richards. Swindell, National Rookie of the Year in both the 410-ci and 360-ci ranks, and Boat, the Arizona Midget Racing Association points runner-up, are both sons of past Chili Bowl champions. A total of 50 rookies have entered the 20th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals thus far.
Kuhn earned National Midget Driver of the Year honors on the strength of ten feature wins with several different sanctioning bodies, including USAC, BMARA, Gateway and AMRA.
In addition to Kemenah, Kuhn and Pedregon, other entries added today include Travis Berryhill, Mike Schenker, David Fuhrman, R.J. Johnson, Stan Yockey, Arizona Sprint Car Association champion Jeremy Sherman, Bugs Norbury, Mike Jones and Harley Slotten.
Also, Shain Matthews of Marysville, CA, has been named the driver of the previously listed "TBA" No. 45x entry owned by Adam Young.
