SUN PRAIRIE, WI, June 15---Dan Boorse scored his third Badger Midget Series feature win of the season, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway. The win was his 66th career at the facility, first on all-time feature win list.
Series point leader Davey Ray jumped into the lead at the start. Ray was quickly followed by Scott Hatton, Brandon Waelti, and Boorse. Waelti challenged Ray for the lead, retiring on the seventh lap. The trio of Ray, Boorse, and Hatton began pulling away, and lapping the tail of the field at the midway point. Cautions appeared for stalled cars twice between laps 15-20.
As Ray led the field down for a lap twenty restart , his car slowed with a broken quick change gear, sidelining his car. Boorse held Hatton off for the final five circuits, finishing 0.93 seconds ahead. Aaron Fiscus, Boyd Calvert, and Nick Lundgreen rounded out the top five.
Chad DeSelle who finished sixth now holds a 22 point margin over Ray, heading into the June 22nd event at the facility. All fans will be admitted free to the event, with a cash register receipt from any Sun Prairie area business.
