ARDC TO HAVE TWO CARS AT MOTORSPORTS; MORE EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR 2006

Oley, PA - When the doors open for Motorsports 2006 presented by VP Racing Fuels, the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) will have a pair of midgets in its booth at the Fort Washington Expo Center. Racing fans will have the opportunity to view and compare the differences between a 1960's-era midget with one that competed in 2005.

Lou Blair, the popular veteran from Hartsville, PA, will display his blue-and-white no. 33. Blair, a former ARDC President, has been racing with ARDC for more years than he can remember, and is looking forward to tossing his midget into the corners once again in 2006.

Along with Blair's present day racecar, ARDC will have a beautifully restored Ken Brenn midget in its booth at Motorsports. This Trevis Craft chassis is powered by an Offy engine, and it was driven by the legendary Len Duncan as well as many others back in the '60's. The car, nicknamed Phyllis, was restored by Dick Briggs and carries Brenn's familiar no. 24.

Attendees at Motorsports will be able to see what's happening at the 20th Annual O'Reilly's Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The ARDC booth will have daily updates posted, tracking the progress of the 13 teams that are representing the club at the Chili Bowl, as well as a listing of the top finishers from each of the qualifying nights and from the Chili Bowl A-Main (will be posted on Sunday, January 15th).

Representatives of the club will also be handing out the ARDC Midgets 2006 racing schedule. With dates still being negotiated at several tracks, this "partial" schedule already includes seven nights of action at Susquehanna Speedway Park. In fact, ARDC's season-opener will take place at SSP on Friday, April 14. With these seven events, Susquehanna Speedway Park will serve as the "home track" for ARDC in 2006.

Also included on the schedule at this point are dates for one show at Williams Grove Speedway (May 12), and three events at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. The mighty midgets will appear at Grandview, as part of the hugely successful Thunder on the Hill Series, on Tuesday, May 16; Tuesday, June 27; and Saturday, October 14.
