Awesome Allgaier Advances To "A" Main For 21st Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals

Tulsa, OK (January 12, 2007) -Justin Allgaier advanced to the A-Main for Saturday night's 21st Annual Chili Bowl Thursday after posting a second place finish in his qualifying feature event. Allgaier took the second position after only four laps of the 25 lap race. His No. 86 Ebby Bergfield's Ethanol/Auto Xpress Spike handled well on the high groove allowing him to protect the spot from two NASCAR regulars, J.J. Yeley and Jason Leffler.

"It was an exciting night," Justin Allgaier said. "I was able to run the top groove all night which paid off for me half way through the race when the bottom of the track went away. I managed to hold off J.J. (Yeley) and I have to say he is one class act racer. I jumped the cushion a couple times and he could have taken me out but he didn't. I gained a lot of respect for him last night."

Allgaier, using borrowed horsepower, finished second in his first heat race and won the transfer race before heading to the feature Thursday night. Allgaier gets to take a little breather Friday before Saturday night's event which features the best 24 drivers of the 280 that entered the competition.

"We blew our motor up on the dyno last week and have a rental motor this weekend," Allgaier said. "We got a little hot during the feature but I think that we'll be okay for the race. I am glad we were able to qualify and have a little break for the team on Friday. They deserve it after all the work they put in for this race."
