Suzuki adds Guintoli to Suzuka 8h line-up

Former World Superbike champion Sylvain Guintoli will team up with Josh Brookes and Takuya Tsuda in the 2017 Suzuka 8 Hours with the Yoshimura Suzuki team.

In 2017, Guintoli's main campaign is British Superbikes, as the Frenchman left WSBK after seven years.

However, he also stood in for the injured Alex Rins in Suzuki's MotoGP squad at Le Mans, Mugello and Barcelona.

Guintoli will be joined by Suzuki MotoGP test rider Tsuda and former British Superbike champion Brookes, who made the move back from WSBK for 2017, in July's Suzuka race.

Suzuki currently leads the 2017 FIM Endurance standings with its regular duo Vincent Philippe and Etienne Masson.

Guintoli's former Honda WSBK teammate Michael van der Mark, now with Yamaha, will also take part in the 8-hour race along with Alex Lowes.

The penultimate round of the FIM Endurance season will take place at Slovakiaring this weekend, while the season finale at Suzuka will be held on July 28-30.
