Team Bruichladdich is coming to La Sarthe with a new driver and great ambition.
The car was 100% rebuilt for the LM24 racing following Christian "off" at SPA. "We just wanted to be sure there were no problems hidden anywhere in the car. We are confident that the car is good" says Team Manager Jacob Greaves.
Team Bruichladdich came to the Snetterton circuit on June 1st for a shakedown. This was the opportunity for Gary Chalandon, the replacement driver for Christian Ebbesvik at Le Mans, to work closely with Tim Greaves and Karim Ojjeh. "He did well," comments Ojjeh. "He's a very nice driver, and easy to get along with too." The whole team is keeping great confidence, despite the absence of Christian Ebbesvik, who suffered a broken vertebra in the Belgian Ardennes.
Monday, Team Bruichladdich and the #41 Zytek were at the Jacobins for the traditional Technical Verification. This was the opportunity for the three drivers to have a first taste of the tremendous atmosphere of the Le Mans 24 Hours. This day was even more special for Gary Chalandon: "I did not believe I would drive at Le Mans this year, I'm over the moon!" He can also rely on the support of Karim Ojjeh and Tim Greaves, who will be competing in the 24 Hours this year for the 6th and 3rd time respectively: "We are confident that Gary can do the job."
Tuesday, Team Bruichladdich drivers is meeting the public at the Le Mans circuit for a great autograph session, before the practice and first qualifying sessions of the 78th running of the 24 Hours on Wednesday June 9.
