Rainy weather affects QUIFEL-ASM Team's test at Le Mans

The rainy and unpredictable weather affected the tests of all the teams present on the official test day at Le Mans, France.

The Quifel-ASM Team started the test period focused on finishing the minimum 20 laps required for qualification of drivers Olivier Pla and Guy Smith, in order to take part in the race itself. These laps also allowed the drivers to detect some problems in the Lola B05/40 AER's gearbox, which continued for the rest of the morning.

By mid-afternoon and with the rain returning to the French track, the Lola B05/40 AER, in the LMP2 class, was driven with safety as the maximum priority along with the drivers' familiarization with the track. Olivier Pla drove the most laps of the track in the test as this was the first time he had driven it.

The weather did not allow the team to put slicks onto the car, but did not prevent Guy Smith from demonstrating his experience by driving the team's best lap in a time of 4:12.644.

Miguel Pais do Amaral did not drive, thus allowing Olivier Pla to drive more laps and better get to know the track.

This test session was the stage for several accidents as a result of the rain and which led to some stoppages.

The Quifel-ASM Team is ready for the challenge of taking part in the legendary Le Mans 24 Hour race, which is due to take place in 14th and 15th June.
