ALEX JOB/BAM! PORSCHE AND PETERSEN/WHITE LIGHTNING PORSCHE STILL ON TOP AT LEMANS IN GT2 AFTER 13 HOURS; PORSCHES IN TOP 7 SPOTS
ATLANTA - June 19 - As the 24 Hours of Le Mans passes the halfway mark, the Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT3 RSR sponsored by BAM! continues to lead the Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Porsche in the GT2 class by one lap.
With Mike Rockenfeller and Marc Lieb handling the majority of the driving chores since they are significantly faster than the third driver, Leo Hindery, the Alex Job/BAM! entry has had very few problems so far, keeping ahead of the Petersen/White Lightning Porsche piloted by Jorg Bergmeister/Patrick Long/Timo Bernhard.
Third continues to be the French Porsche team of Raymond Narrac/Sebastien Dumez/Romain Dumas an Le Mans Series team), followed by the Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche of Johannes van Overbeek/Lonnie Pechnik/Seth Neiman, which lost time in the pits after an air jack failure.
The Sebath Automotive Porsche of Lars Erik Nielsen/Thorkild Tyrring/Pierre Ehret is fifth, followed by the Luc Alphand Adventures Porsche of Luc Alphand/Jerome Policand/Christopher Campbell in sixth and the T2M Motorsport Porsche of Xavier Pompidou/Jean-Luc Blanchemain/Yataka Yamagishi in seventh.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is being telecast on the Speed Channel, including 17.5 hours of live coverage, and when the TV goes off, fans can tune into Le Mans Radio on the internet (www.lemans.org or www.autosport.com) for commentary and scores.
