Kazuki Nakajima has been cleared to race for the Toyota Racing team at the Le Mans 24 Hours next week.
The Japanese joins regular WEC partners Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Buemi in the No.1 Toyota TS 040 HYBRID.
Nakajima took pole position for last year's race.
Just a week after the Spa accident Nakajima exclusively told Motorsport.com that he was likely to participate in his fourth consecutive Le Mans.
FIA and ACO medical delegates have passed the former Williams F1 driver fit after he sustained fractured vertebrae at Spa a month ago.
"I speak for the whole team in saying how happy we are that Kazuki has recovered and can race with us at Le Mans, " said Toyota Racing President, Toshio Sato. "This shows his determination and spirit."
Nakajima was aided by an innovative operation at Nice hospital the week after his accident, which fused the cracked vertebrae.
