The annual tradition was once again respected when Matthieu Bonardel, Manager of Michelin Competition's Four -Wheel Programme, and Michelin's technical staff profited from the preliminary test day to present Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner "winners of the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours" with three splendid go-karts.
"Michelin is delighted to have this chance to reward the winners of the 2007 race with such wonderful trophies," said Matthieu Bonardel. Last year's race was extremely difficult and you deserve these prizes. They also symbolise the perfect working relationship that exists between Audi and our competition department."
Like kids at Christmas, the three drivers lost no time getting behind the wheel of their respective go-karts, while Audi boss Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich emphasised the professionalism of Michelin's technical and management staff."Audi would like to express its gratitude for your expertise and the commitment you make at every race. Our results on the track are also possible thanks to the work put in by all of you."
Audi driver Marco Werner took the opportunity to thanks those Michelin technicians who attend the races all year long. "Believe me, we are very grateful. Your expertise makes a real contribution to our success. I would also ask you to thank all those Michelin employees who never come to races but who, every day, put their passion into providing us with the most competitive tyres possible. Let's hope we'll be back next year to celebrate another victory!"
