Jarek Janis tested in Snoras Spyker Squadron
Jarek Janis passed really impressive return to racing car wherewith he raced in season 2007. Team Snoras Spyker Squadron invited him to test in Italian Vallelunga circuit. Young Czech spent two days behind the wheel in Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R. The former factory driver of team raced with Dutch car in Le Mans Series and in 24h Le Mans two years ago. Jarek shared about approximately 200 laps with Dutch Tom Coronel on track not so far from Rome.
Tests came through in sunny wheather in temperature over 10 centigrades. There was return for Jarek to car of LMS after one and half year. Last he raced with Spyker 1000 km in Spa LMS in July 2007. During that time he had serious accident in famous corner Eau Rouge due to burst tyre and he injured his backbone.
First time after his medication, he raced twice in autumn last year. He raced with Mercedes AMG DTM C-Klasse of Charouz Racing System team in Czech Touring Car Championship. Once in Automn Prix of Brno and second time in Epilog at Brno as well. He got always on podium positions. The most important was that Jarek fixed up. The same is true of Vallelunga.
Jarek Janis: "The tests were really very interesting. Together with Tom Coronel we had two days of testing with newly modified Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R. Everything went well. The wheather was very important. We ran together about 200 laps. We shared half and half. I'm really happy that I felt perfectly. It just proved that medication of my backbone injured in Spa 2007, was successfull. We mainly tried newly modified back axletree of the car. I raced in the team in season 2007, in Le Mans Series and in 24h Le Mans but car has changed a lot since that time. It's much better than before. The instrument board is completely new as well. Team sent me the instrument board on photos by e-mail and I studied rigorously every single buton on it. I was pleased to meet Tom Coronel individually. He is very experienced and very kindly and opened guy. We discussed everything together and we agreed on almost everything. I would be glad not to test only with this team. I thank to team boss Peter van Erp that he invited me."
