Christina Nielsen to make Le Mans debut with Formula Racing
United SportsCar Championship frontrunner Christina Nielsen will race in the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time in 2016, joining Formula Racing's GTE Am assault.
Nielsen will make up an all-Danish trio with Mikkel Mac and Johnny Laursen, partnering them in the team's Ferrari 458 GTE for the full European Le Mans Series campaign in addition to the legendary 24-hour race.
"In 2016, I will become the first Danish woman to run the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which seems completely unreal," Nielsen said.
"We have worked a long time on the project, and it is a dream come true.
"There are many Danish drivers who strive for a Le Mans seat, and I am extremely grateful that Formula Racing has decided to give me the chance to help them towards victory."
Mac and Laursen, partnered by Andrea Rizzoli, booked Formula Racing's spot in the 2016 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours by winning this year's ELMS title in the GTE class.
Nielsen, meanwhile, came up just two points short of USSC's GT Daytona class crown.
