Bret Curtis will miss Le Mans after crash

Bret Curtis will not compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend.

Bret Curtis becomes the third driver told he can not race at Le Mans this weekend, joining James Calado and Loic Duval. The American was hoping to take part in his second Le Mans 24 for ProSpeed this year. During the accident, he was briefly knocked out.

Considering that, the ACO doesn't want to risk further injury after such a heavy shunt. There were early rumors that ProSpeed would have to withdraw the No. 79 Porsche, but that turned out not to be true. A replacement chassis is on its way to Le Mans. The new car has been raced in the European Le Mans Series this year.

Frenchmen Sebastien Crubilé, who finished 11th for ProSpeed in last year's race, will serve as Curtis' replacement. He joins Jeroen Bleekemolen and Cooper MacNeil as they bid for a GTE Am victory this weekend.

UPDATE: Crubile not cleared to drive as ProSpeed is forced to switch classes
