Audi rises with the sun: The No. 7 Toyota hits major trouble

We have had major dramas just unfold at Le Mans.

The No. 7 Toyota, which has led for the last ten consecutive hours, has suffered from some major issues. The car is stopped on the left side of the track at the approach to the Porsche Curves. There were multiple reports that there was a fire on the car briefly.

Nakajima had a lead nearing two full minutes when he encountered problems. The No. 2 Audi has taken control of the race just past the 14th hour, marking the first time they've led during this race. The No. 20 Porsche is now 2nd, three laps adrift of the Audi. The No. 1 Audi is now 3rd.

The No. 7 Toyota has been officially retired from the race as we continue to try to figure out exactly what went wrong. The team is unsure as well, citing that it is electrically related.

This race has now become a true battle of the titans. The Tyrant that is Audi vs. The King that is Porsche. It's the showdown everybody has been waiting for.
