All-Chinese team to attack Le Mans

Oak Racing Team Asia will be bringing an all Chinese lineup to try and win at Le Mans.

All-Chinese team to attack Le Mans

For the first time in the races 82 year history, an all Chinese driver lineup will compete for a win in the 24 Hour of Le Mans.

Adderly Fong, Ho-Pin Tung and David Cheng will pilot the #33 Ligier JS P2 Honda in the LMP2 class for Oak Racing Team Asia at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

The program will see Orsun, Michelin and TOTAL on its bodywork.

Once the team wraps up its hopefully successful trip to Le Mans, it will begin preperations on a completely different car for the start of the Asian Le Mans Series July 20 in Korea.

The team will drive a Morgan-Judd in that series.

Fong recently tested a Morgan LMP2 car at Paul Ricard and said the closed cockpit cars feel similar to the cars he is used to driving as of late.

"Having driven 4 years, in 2 variations of F3, I quickly adapted to the Morgan LMP2 when I came at the Paul Ricard circuit for some tests. The Ligier JS P2 is a closed prototype, which increases the downforce significantly,” Fong told Fox Sports.

"It is truly a pleasure and a highlight in my career thus far. Life is down to a few moments and this is certainly one of them. I feel the Ligier JS P2 car is a great car to drive. It handles very similarly to an F3 car.”
