LIFESTEPS SUMMER FESTIVAL
Race fans, driving enthusiasts, music lovers, barbeque connoisseurs and community-minded families will find that the Lifesteps Summer Festival at BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex is one of this summer's hottest entertainment tickets. BeaveRun, the country's fastest-growing motorsports destination and Lifesteps, a family-focused, nonprofit service organization, present a full weekend of world-class kart and car racing, car shows, driving experiences and a non-stop lineup of the region's best summer sounds and sights from August 8 -10. Throughout the weekend, visitors can take part in a number of exclusive on-track experiences, with a portion of all proceeds benefiting Lifesteps' Family Caring Fund. The Family Caring Fund offers programs and services for children, adults who are mentally and physically challenged, the elderly and families in crisis in ten western Pennsylvania counties.
While three full days of World Karting Association (WKA) action, two days of Classic Formula Racing Association (CFR) competitions, a Porsche Club Autocross and a display of exciting sports cars will be music to the ears of racing and car enthusiasts, special performances by favorite bands like The Granati Brothers will keep everyone dancing into the evening. And, each day offers new ways for everyone in the family to support Lifesteps' important community services, from taking part in parade laps or "hot laps" around BeaveRun's world-class road-race course, to sampling the fun of karting.
Lifesteps, a nonprofit organization, is one of western Pennsylvania's most well-respected providers of quality human services. Lifesteps' mission is to help individuals and families with life's special needs by offering family-focused programs and services throughout ten counties in western Pennsylvania. According to President and CEO, Karen Sue Owens, Lifesteps has been helping families meet life's challenges for over 80 years. From the unique needs of infants and young children, to the care and support of the developmentally disabled and the frail elderly, Lifesteps strives to meet those needs.
Formerly an affiliate of the National Easter Seal Society, Lifesteps became an independent agency in 1994 to ensure the Agency's focus and resources remain at the local community level. Through support to Lifesteps' Family Caring Fund, the Agency is able to offer programs and services not otherwise funded by contracts, grants, or the government.
