Speedway Dirt Money Class Purse Receives Huge Increase

04.09.2009 - As many Briggs & Stratton Speedway Dirt Series competitors are forced to wait for the first official race of the season, due to the March washout at Hanging Rock Kartway, the wait will be worthwhile. With just 2 and a half weeks left till the Bordeaux Dyno Cams Nationals at Margarettsville Speedway April 24-26 in North Carolina, the pot just got sweeter for participants in the Briggs Animal Heavy Money Class.

With an already huge turnout expected for race #1 in March at Hanging Rock, the rescheduled 1st race of the season will see the winners share expand to $1,700 to win, thanks to Firestone. An extra $1,000 has been added to an already huge payout that will also reward the highest finishing driver on Firestone Tires a $500 bonus. Should the overall winner be on Firestones, the first money race winner of the new season could walk away with a cool $2,200. In order to receive the bonus, Firestone drivers are required to run 2 8.00 x 6 Right Side YJF Tires.

The top 4 positions will receive a payout, with second receiving $400, 3rd place getting $300, and $100 going to the 4th place finisher. Firestone's involvement in the Briggs Money race adds their name to a high profile list of sponsors, including Briggs & Stratton, Ultramax, and Dixie Racing.

The Briggs Animal Heavy Money race will be run Saturday night following national race competition.

Racing Dreams Documentary Getting More And More Attention

04.09.2009 -- The World Karting Association has long been known as "The Foundation of Motorsports" with many NASCAR drivers, such as Brian Vickers, Jamie McMurray and AJ Allmendinger, beginning their racing career with WKA. Now we can add three more notables to the list in Joshua Hobson, Annabeth Barnes and Brandon Warren as they get ready to take their next steps in their racing career.

Their hard work and determination has been documented in an upcoming film directed by the Oscar Nominated director, Marshall Curry. The film, Racing Dreams, will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, NY, on April 25, 2009. The film looks to be promising in the world of sports as more exposure from websites such as jayski.com takes interest.
